Here come the owls! We are making the super popular Kate Davies pattern, o w l s for this sweater class. It's a great pattern for beginning sweater makers. It's bottom up construction, chunky yarn (so it goes FAST), and the cables are only in the yoke of the sweater, which also helps make it a quick knit. There is sizing for both adults and kids, so in the class you can make a sweater for yourself, or as a gift for a loved one. And if you don't love the look of owls, leave off the button eyes, and you'll be the only one who knows it's not just a fun cabled yoke.
Techniques we are teaching in this class: how to choose the right size, how to make a gauge swatch (and how to read it), magic loop knitting for small circumferences (sleeves), make 1 increases, k2tog and ssk decreases, how to read a chart, how to cable, short rows, and kitchener stitch.
Things you should know how to do before the class: Knit, purl, and be comfortable with knitting in the round.
