Portuguese Knitting Technique
Have you ever seen someone knitting with their yarn tensioned around a pin on their shoulder? This method is called Portuguese knitting and it allows the knitter to keep their working yarn between them and their project at all times. It makes purling easier, and for some provides an easier form of tensioning yarn.
In this three hour class we will go over knits, purls, increases, and decreases using the Portuguese knitting style. We'll provide a simple knitting pin, as well as links to reputable sources for more elaborate pins. We will also have a simple coaster pattern for you to practice your new technique.
